Permovable outdoor film being applied to pavement

Sihl Direct UK, who produce, sell and distribute specialty films and substrates for digital printing, has launched Permovable™ outdoor graphic film.
This unique new product creates 'exciting and cost-effective opportunities' for outdoor graphic specialists.

Permovable™ is a 2 mil (51 micron), non-PVC, pressure sensitive film developed for direct use on previously unavailable locations, walls, pavements, roads, parking lots and other unsealed outdoor surfaces for short term event promotion. This self-adhesive, digitally printable media for use outdoors on rough, porous surfaces 'offers a host of benefits in comparison to previously available graphic films'.

The substrate can be installed without the need for special tools or surface preparation. Once installed, the printed film conforms to the structure underneath whether it is concrete, asphalt, or other porous materials used in walls, slabs, paths, streets or parking lots. It meets the anti-slip standards for outdoor pavements, and requires no over-laminate.

Permovable™ is also 'vinyl-free', so is no risk to the environment that can arise from metals. When the graphic is no longer needed it is easily removed, along with the adhesive, with a power-washer, fracturing into sand-like particles that need no special disposal methods.

Sihl Direct customers, such as The Binary Box, are successfully using Permovable to meet customer demand for easily removable outdoor graphics while building a 'thriving' business. Chris Chadwick, Director of Binary Box said: "We sourced Permovable from Planet Solutions and working closely with them and the Sihl team, we found the media easy to work with. It was easy to apply and easy to remove using just soapy water and a stiff brush. I was pleasantly surprised how scratch resistant it was and it saved us a production step, as we would normally laminate, which wasn't needed with Permovable."
