Comprehensive workshop programme for 2009 Sign & Digital UK event

Sign & Digital UK 2009 promises a wealth of seminars and expert-led workshops. Attendees will be able to watch professionals demonstrating the latest technologies and solutions, find out how to get more value from their equipment, and discover useful ideas for boosting business.

New Corel Anniversary Edition debuts One of the focal points of the Corel workshops this year will be the recently launched CorelDRAW® Anniversary Edition.

Sign & Digital UK Theatre reveals ways to maximise profits Leading experts and organisations from within the industry will be involved at the Sign & Digital UK Theatre on all three days of the show.

Cisco Systems' Vice President and General Manager Thomas Wyatt will be presenting a seminar on digital media in the current economy. He will discuss the technology behind digital media and how it is changing the future of the industry, plus how digital media solutions benefit a business. This opportunity to hear from the network giant should prove invaluable to all those that attend, and represents a real coup for Sign & Digital UK 2009.

Following on from a successful seminar slot in 2008, Geoffrey Fairfield, Chairman of Fairfield Displays & Lighting Equipment and President of the Shop & Display Equipment Association will be hosting a seminar on creating a new revenue stream with digital displays. His seminar will explore subjects from a beginner's guide to selling digital screens through to mixing digital displays with signage to maximise sales profitability.

Also returning to the Theatre for 2009, Peter Kiddell from PRISM will hold a seminar on digital printing and why the flexibility and uniqueness of screen-printing should not be ignored. Both processes have different advantages and Peter will show how combining the two can really maximise profits and help a company through the economic downturn.

Meanwhile, in a seminar very much in keeping with the current economic climate and new to the Sign & Digital Theatre this year, Julian Rowlandson of Expand will be leading a session on maximising sales revenues in difficult economic times.

Julian comments: "Winston Churchill once said 'A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity, an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty'. This seminar will be looking at finding the opportunities that do exist in the current economic climate. Topics that will be considered include strategic selling and getting more out of what you have, focused marketing and effective communication, and effective customer service through added value, and how to cope with completion."

Ask the Adobe experts

Returning to Sign & Digital UK 2009 after yet another packed out show in 2008 is the Adobe Theatre.

Terry Steeley of Iridius will be hosting free workshops on the various Adobe Creative Suite 4 packages available, including Adobe Bridge, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat 9.0.

Richard West, from Apple, will also be running seminars within the Adobe Theatre, looking at the benefits and features of running Leopard, the operating system from Apple that offers features such as Time Machine, Mail, Spaces, Dashboard and MobileMe. Richard will also be presenting on Aperture 2.0, which delivers more than 100 new features, including advanced image-processing, a streamlined interface, faster performance, and unprecedented Mac integration.
