Roland DG Corporation has introduced the SG2 wide-format eco-solvent printer/ cutters to its TrueVIS series said to deliver the accuracy, cutting performance and print quality of the TrueVIS brand, with a streamlined workflow and the “super-fast, same-day turnaround speeds” busy print service providers (PSPs) need.

Featuring a CMYK ink configuration, it combines “impressive performance with incredible value, for outstanding colour and practically limitless application versatility”. SG2 offers three sizes to match the wide-ranging production requirements of graphics businesses. Prints are ready to laminate and immediately finish in six hours, says Roland. The True Rich Color preset is said to allow vibrant colour to be combined with neutral greys, smooth gradations and natural skin, “unequalled for durable graphics”. An automatic pinch roller system requires minimal operator intervention while highly accurate automated printing and cutting can be done with or without crop marks. An optional take-up unit supporting two modes according to the type of media chosen for increased take-up stability and smooth post-print processing, is available.

An ink delivery system reduces consumption by up to 54% due to automated maintenance sequences, says Roland. TR2 ink offers “unmatched durability when washed and is certified for safe indoor graphic applications.

“In addition to individuals just entering the sign and display graphics market, we designed it for those expanding graphic product offerings while maximising profitability,” says Roland.
