The signs are successful for expanding gateshead business

Martin Stephenson, Corporate Finance Director at RMT, Jason Hathaway, MD of Saltwell Signs and Maxine Pott, Corporate Finance Partner at RMT. A Gateshead sign maker is seeing his business boom, with help from accountants and business advisors at North East based RMT.

Saltwell Signs, based in Team Valley, was acquired by owner Jason Hathaway in April 2008 as part of a management buy out. The business had previously been in existence for 37 years.

Jason said: "I had worked at Saltwell Signs for nearly six years when the MBO took place. I was introduced to RMT in the negotiations stage and the team has been absolutely fantastic to work with, helping me with my accounts, business plans and general business advice.

"In terms of business growth, Saltwell Signs has just moved into a new factory and turnover, compared to this time last year, is up to £3.1m, a significant rise. Staff numbers have also increased over the past eight months - from specialist sign makers, to designers, to graphics and production.

"RMT is always on hand to help me when I need it and I would thoroughly recommend working with the team there."

Saltwell Signs operates across the whole of UK and Ireland and clients include Sky, William Hill and Newcastle United Football Club.

Martin Stephenson, corporate finance director at RMT said: "We at RMT are not only committed to building the best deals for our clients, through ensuring the right people are involved, but supporting those clients going forward and ensuring their operation is successful.

"Our deals offer us the chance to work with people in the long term and help to grow and nurture their business. Saltwell Signs is a perfect example of this and we very much look forward to working with Jason and his team going forward."

Maxine Pott, corporate finance partner at RMT, said: "As one of the region's leading accountancy firms and business advisors, RMT is committed to offering clients the best service possible.

Businesses, which seek advice, are more likely to survive and thrive and we'd encourage any, which are looking for help in the current financial climate, to get in touch so see how RMT can help. We're delighted that Saltwell Signs has had such success so far and look forward to seeing more in the future."
