Promota raise thousands for charity

Host John Francome, The Leather Business’s John Thorp and Promota chairman Rod Duncan.Promota raised thousands of pounds for children's charity Sparks, when they held their annual fund raising golf day.

The association held the Promota Sparks Charity Golf Day at Camberley Heath Golf Club in Surrey, to raise much-needed funds for the charity.

The event was hosted by ex-champion jockey, John Francome, who was joined by a host of sporting and TV celebrities who joined the teams of Promota members for a day of golf.

It was John Thorp and his team mates from The Leather Business, along with ex-England wicket keeper Roger Tolchard, who scooped the Promota trophy at the end of the day.

Rod Duncan, chairman of Promota, said: "The charity golf day is always a highlight in the association's calendar. It is an ideal time to meet up with colleagues from across the industry, play a bit of golf and most importantly raise some money for such a deserving charity.

"Our members raised more than £10,000 for Sparks, which will go towards helping fund research into medical conditions affecting babies and children.

"I would like to say a big thank you to all of those members who took part in the day, donated prizes for the evening auction and those who have donated since the event."
