Riot of colour with translucent vinyl and transparent films

Sheffield based signage and digital print specialist Insign recently helped Sheffield Children’s Hospital add a WOW factor to their main entrance.

Artfelt, The Children’s Hospital Charity’s arts programme, worked with leading artist and place maker Morag Myerscough to create a riot of colour for the Main Entrance of Sheffield Children’s Hospital. They commissioned Morag to enhance the status of the entrance and provide a welcoming, playful experience for patients visiting their Western Bank site. It looks glorious in the sun!

Insign used two different products to deliver the final result. Hexis’s Cristal 4000 transparent range, combined with Metamark’s MT translucent range, were selected to achieve the variety of colour and light transmission required to achieve the impact that the artist wanted to create.

The job presented a few challenges as each unique colour piece of the design had to be individually cut and applied in position as perfectly as possible so not to compromise the overall artwork.

The project has been a huge success. It’s proven a real hit with the visitors, staff and most importantly the children. Insign were honoured to have had the opportunity to be part of it and all the people involved are absolutely over the moon with the response.
