Mida Sign Services celebrates 25 years

Mida Sign Services UK Ltd, is a nationwide installer for all types of signage, graphics and banners and this year is celebrating 25 years in the business.

The company was formed in January 1984, initially as a partnership but has now grown from it early days, and offers clients various types of installation services for signage, graphic and promotional items.

Mike Smith, managing director said: "We don't just install signs, as our company name implies, our work has now become extremely varied, especially with digital print and graphics, which we install onto glazing, floors, walls and vehicles etc. We also install banners from large one offs, to promotional roll out programs nationwide."

Mike explains how things have changed over the years and safety issues have become even more important. For example, site work requires risk assessments and method statements, engineers have to be qualified and have CSCS, IPAF, PASMA and First Aid training. Mida Sign Services has gained the accreditation of approved safe contractor for health and safety standards, as well as being members of the British Sign and Graphics Association.

Mike continues: "On the signage side we install a lot of large illuminated flex face signage and built up internally illuminated letters with LED. We don't seem to get much call for neon but that's not to say we can't install or maintain it, just that LED seems to be taking over as vinyl and digital print has taken over sign writing.

"We have also over the years completed contracts in Europe, which is challenging to say the least. Last year we completed an 18 branch rebrand in Germany, which included initial site surveys, signage proposals and complete installation.
