Buckinghamshire-based signage solutions provider Manor Signs has set out plans to target more environmentally focused customers after investing in a new HP Latex R1000 Plus printer. The investment will see the company upgrade its existing fleet to ensure greater flexibility in terms of production capabilities and print features.

The market leading environmental credentials of the HP Latex R1000 Plus will also help Manor signs provide more sustainable solutions to customers looking for high quality print and sign work, including new home signage, glass and wall branding, vehicle wraps and banners – all of which typically have challenges in terms of environmental impact. With the HP Latex R1000 Plus running on innovative water-based HP Latex inks, meaning it has a much lower impact on the environment than other print technologies such as solvent, eco-solvent and UV.

Purchased from approved HP distributor Papergraphics, the machine was installed at Manor Signs’ production facility at the end of last year.

“From the moment we first spoke with Papergraphics about the possibility of upgrading our printer, the print quality and versatility we saw from the HP Latex R1000 Plus meant we knew that it was the right machine for us” said Manor Signs Director, Gareth Craythorne. “There was simply no contest in terms of the print quality and its white capabilities, and the level of commitment shown by Papergraphics really helped guide us to purchasing the HP Latex R1000 Plus.”

“Compared to other printers of a similar size and capability, the eco credentials of the HP Latex R1000 Plus are far more impressive. Considering how impactful our field can be on the planet, this printer was easily the best option for us.

“Since being in use, and the positive feedback we have received so far, we expect to target the more environmentally focused customer, as well as further expand our new homes customer base.

“With the superior white ink option available with this printer, we also expect to focus on this side of manufacture to expand our production.

“It is all about giving the best option for our customer base, making sure we deliver print of the highest quality, while re-assuring our clients that their graphics have the least possible impact on the environment.”

"HP's Latex R1000 Plus fits perfectly with Manor Signs business vision, to target environmentally focused customers, said HP UK&I MV Business Development Manager Stuart Thomas. “It’s great to see the importance in terms of environmental impact and shows the way forward in the industry.

Gareth told Sign Update, “I can’t speak highly enough of the abilities to print with white. We can reverse print on an optically clear film, followed by a layer of white, then black, then white, and then the 2nd image. This addition of black in the white black white sandwich layer, ensures block out. This results in 2 separate images visible on either side of the film with no show through of the other image.”
