UV inkjet indoor printing application on a Madico supplied fire-rated polyester film used in glass wall of an office.Madico's range of versatile and high performance window films sets the industry standards for innovation, security and the realisation of creative applications for architects, graphic and interior designers. Thanks to their UV stability, scratch resistance and security compliance, these materials enable printers to increase business by undertaking innovative visual applications that are compliant with relevant safety legislation.

For glazing enhancement films and other printable substrates, printers are increasingly asking for products answering to strict certifications. This requirement is often driven by demands from print buyers, who are keen to ensure that their final projects use substrates that are safe for the environment in which they are installed.

This trend is perfectly aligned to Madico's mission to develop certified and safe materials. The company boasts considerable experience in offering value-added and high quality products, coated to exacting standards backed by ISO certified manufacturing procedures. In addition, Madico has been supplying class "O" rated fire hazard (compliant with BS 476 - Part 5, 6 & 7) PET window films suitable for UV inkjet printing since 1994, being one of the first companies to ensure that its substrates can be legally and securely applied to most public spaces.

Andy Voss, Managing Director of Madico Graphic Films, explains that the company supplies printed PET material according to Class "O" requirements as they are fully aware of the importance to guarantee safety in every environment. "Madico has been at the forefront of the development of high quality, secure and bespoke solutions and today the market can benefit from our outstanding expertise and tested products," he underlines.

Thanks to its in house technical service laboratory, Madico provides customers with a range of support services including application testing and new product developments to ensure that materials comply with the appropriate EU directives and legislation.

For example, Madico's Vandal Shield film is a proven product used by leading train, tram and bus operators as it complies with all relevant British Standards regarding flammability and toxicity. This film not only prevents damage to windows from mechanical and chemical etching by providing unparalleled protection to glass and preventing flying glass fragments, but it also boosts LUL (London Underground Limited) toxicity testing, which attests its safe use on trains and the underground.

In Madico's vision, glazing enhancement - i.e. adding value to glass through printed branding and advertising - is an area that marketers and designers should explore with the knowledge that they can create printed visual effects while using safe and legally compliant materials at the same time.
