LED Solutions, a trade supplier of LED lighting products, have added a new module to their sign LED range called the L050 Light box module.
The L050 module has been designed for edge-illuminating single/double sided fret cut fascia panels with a bright and even illumination. This latest offering from the company is part of the DAEHAN LED range, which use Samsung and Seoul Semiconductor (SSC) technology.
LED Solutions are the UK distributor for DAEHAN LED and have been supplying their modules to the UK sign industry since 2009. Marketing and sales representative at LED Solutions, Luke Dalton, said; ''We have been very satisfied with the range of modules that DAEHAN have supplied us in recent years as they constantly develop their LED technology to suit the latest sign requirements. We have always been able to offer our clients a lighting solution for the most intricate of sign specifications''.
In recent months LED Solutions noticed a sharp increase in the requirement for LED Light panels to illuminate fascia signs. So they decided that another solution for illuminating these signs could be applied. Luke said; ''We supply LED Light panels to the sign trade ourselves and they are fantastic products which are perfect for illuminating very shallow signs of just 30mm or less. We felt that a more cost effective LED option could be applied to fret cut panels with return depths of between 35-100mm, which didn't require a lead time to manufacture and could be supplied off the shelf and on a next day basis." When LED Solutions received the new L050 module they knew that there was a gap in the market for this type of product. And that it could be offered as a cost effective solution to illuminate fret cut panels with shallow returns.
The L050 module has been designed to run along the returns of the panel and create a bright and even wash of light behind the fret cut text or across the full face of a panel. DAEHAN have a range of lens' to be applied over each SSC 3W LED that allows the beam of light to be distributed in a narrow profile from 50º to 7º degrees. The module is available in two types (1P and 3P) with the 1P module using a single LED chip and being versatile enough to illuminate circular projection signs. The 3P module uses three 3W chips and is suitable for large-scale panel signs.
General Manager at LED Solutions, Robert Coulson, said; ''We believe that the L050 module will cover the middle ground when illuminating signs in the future. LED Light panels will always be the product of choice for illuminating very shallow signs and modules are the most appropriate for deeper return depths of 100mm or above. The L050 module can cover the middle ground between two were shallow returns are required but cost and availability are paramount."
