In addition to supplying the sign trade with a range of illuminated sign systems, Universal Aluminium Systems supplies two quality trough light solutions to provide task lighting to signs and to enhance their visual impact.

The advanced 60mm-deep Slimlight trough light solution can now be supplied with LED modules as an alternative to the standard T5 fluorescent tubes. It can also claim a saving in energy consumption of 30 per cent due to the presence of electronic ballasts. The system is ideal for the top illumination of signs, posters and displays and can be used in lengths of up to 30 metres.

Sleek and compact in appearance, the Slimlight system features a high-frequency gear tray to create instant light and to thus provide outstanding and evenly distributed luminance as well as polished mirrorfinish reflectors to enhance this facility. The system is available from stock in any powder-coated RAL colour and supplied with multi-positional fixing brackets to enable it to be wall-mounted. It can also be used with Universal's pictorial bracket for double-sided signs.

Complementing the Slimlight solution is Unilight. This system can be used for both the top illumination of signs and displays and to provide illumination in an upward direction for interior sign and display applications such as exhibitions. Available in a range of five different customised gear trays and in any RAL colour, Unilight is very easy to fabricate and install using adjustable fixing brackets, either as a wall- or ceiling-mounted feature. To provide enhanced illumination for signs and displays, the system also incorporates polished mirror-finish reflectors.
