3M expands translucent films colour range

3m portfolio of translucent films

In response to extensive market research into emerging trends in design and corporate identity, 3M has introduced 27 additional shades to its Scotchcal Translucent Graphic Film Series 3630 and seven to its Envision Translucent Film Series 3730. Additions to the Envision Translucent Film Series 3730, which allows customers to tailor the brightness and energy efficiency of illuminated signs, are Regal Red, Burgundy, Raspberry, Olympic Blue, Plum Purple, Teal Green and Holly Green.

The Scotchcal Translucent Graphic Film Series 3630 from 3M – a range of premium, matte, cast, translucent films with clear, permanent, pressure-sensitive adhesive – now includes Fire Engine Red, Electric Blue and Dover White.

The expansion takes the number of coloured translucent films in 3M’s comprehensive portfolio of sign illumination solutions to 103.“We know that, in order to remain competitive, sign shop owners are always seeking to improve and expand their offerings,” said portfolio manager for the 3M Commercial Solutions division Christian Stoehr. “We’ve picked these vibrant new colours based on the results of extensive market research looking into what businesses want, so sign and graphics suppliers can rest assured that their customers will love the selection. “Furthermore, with more than 100 colours now in our portfolio of translucent films for illuminated signs, our stockists will be able to offer customers even better prices, as there will be less need for custom colour-matching.”

In addition to the new translucent film colours, 3M has added Sultan Blue to its innovative Dual-Color Film 3635 range, which changes colour when backlit at night. This is the first non-black-or-white colour in the range.

3M’s offering of illuminated signs solutions also includes inkjet printable films, light management films, overlaminates and flexible substrates; the company can custom-match colours.
