3M launches new finishes for vehicle wrapping film

Colour-change films are increasing in popularity in the production of more creative vehicle wrapping, with dynamic and eye-catching new colours and special finishes from which to choose.

Six new matte and satin finish colours have now been added to the Scotchprint Car Wrap Film Series 1080 from 3M. They supplement an already wide range of matte, satin, gloss and carbon fibre- and metal-effect options. The six new colours now available include satin white and pearl white and matte bright yellow, hotrod red, royal purple and apple green.

Professionally wrapped vehicles can offer a faster, smarter and more cost-efficient alternative to conventional spray painting. The speed of application inherent in the Scotchprint Car Wrap Film Series 1080 reduces application and downtime costs, thanks to the unique Controltac adhesive technology developed by 3M that enables precise positioning with an instant bond with no curing time. In a recent world record attempt in car wrapping, 10 Danish installers fully wrapped an Audi A6 car with the Scotchprint Car Wrap Film Series 1080 in just 34.40 minutes, three of which were without light! The car was wrapped using 60-inch sheets of carbon fibre film, enabling sections of the vehicle to be covered entirely without seams. The challenge demonstrates how quickly an entire car can be transformed to create that eye-catching wow factor.
