Blackman & White's new software and technical developments

close up on the Versa Tech cutting headSpecialist British large format finishing manufacturer Blackman & White (B&W) recently demonstrated their latest image recognition software at Sign and Digital. It uses the latest generation of camera technology with advanced distortion control to produce a "high speed, accurate solution" for sign and print cutting and registration.

Visitors at the show saw the new conveyor belt technology in use on a 1.6m Versa-Tech, which allows fast and easy control for switching between the laser and knife conveyor belts.

The Versa-Tech is a "versatile" cutter with a multi-head feature that makes it a popular choice for sign and print companies that need accuracy, reliability and flexibility.

The Versa-Tech can handle a range of substrates from self-adhesive vinyl, Foamex, Dibond, Foamcore, acrylic, textiles, PVC, sandwich board, card and paper. The Versa-Tech is ideal for the sign and display market and particularly those companies who have made the move into digital textile printing, says the company. It is available in flatbed, conveyorised, or laser-equipped models for "incredible functionality with a fast return on investment".

Managing Director Alex White said: “As a UK manufacturer for 50 years we offer the best of British innovation. And as we’re ‘on the doorstep’ for our European customers, we can provide a swift and truly responsive, manufacturer-direct service from delivery right through the lifetime of our machines.”

The Blackman & White range includes the MasterCut™, Genesis and Orion models.
