Tekcel routers focus on cut to print with Opticam system

Tekcel Router with OptiCAM system As showcased at Sign UK earlier in 2008, Tekcel CNC Solutions has developed its own digital camera cut to print registration system which makes a Tekcel router the ideal cutting rigid sheet partner for the increasing number of digital printers used in the sign and display industry.

Using the new Tekcel OptiCAM system, Tekcel router operators can use the same .ai source files as a printer uses to generate accurate cut paths around the images. Unlike other systems on the market, OptiCAM only needs to register three points around a printed image or images to accurately register the cut paths required. According to Tekcel, OptiCAM also costs considerably less too.

Developed in conjunction with Cadlink, world leaders in software development for the sign and digital print industy, OptiCAM’s software program automatically re-calibrates the cut path to compensate for any misalignment in loading, stretching or skewing that may have occurred during the printing or, in the case of roll-fed printers, the lamination process.

Given the growing number of companies that are now printing direct to rigid sheet materials - from foamboard and aluminium composite to more substantial substrates like acrylic and MDF, understandably, Tekcel routers fitted with the OptiCAM system are proving to be invaluable to those businesses that require a versatile and robust cut to print solution.

The Tekcel OptiCAM registration system is available as an option on all new Tekcel router models. Existing Tekcel routers owners will be pleased to hear that the OptiCAM system can be retrofitted to their machines too.
