Pacer Systems - New heavy-duty routing solution and faster cutting

ATC (Automatic Tool Change) facility available as an optional production tool. Leading manufacturer of all-British CNC routing and engraving solutions, Pacer Systems has introduced a faster and more powerful version of its HDS machine. The HDS2 Series is of a more robust construction and can therefore handle materials like aluminium, brass and steel with greater efficiency in addition to plastics, woods, wood composites and laminates. Furthermore, the cutting speed of the new machine has been increased from 20 to 25 metres/minute.

The weight of the HDS2 is over double that of the original machine and this has resulted in a more rigid construction and consequently a superior cutting capability. There is a choice of processing areas (from 2,500 x 1,250mm to 3,050 x 2,050mm) and a range of spindle options.

The frame of the machine is a single-piece welded steel construction that is stress-relieved and milled flat to a very fine tolerance. The steel gantry is mounted on linear bearings running on steel rails and is driven on each side by an AC Servomotor and a precision ball screw for backlash-free motion. The controller has an automatic self-squaring feature that ensures the gantry is always accurately aligned to eliminate the possibility of twisting or 'crabbing'.

The zoned vacuum bed incorporates a high-flow brush-less exhauster that is capable of continuous operation, while independent switching and redirection provides a versatile and highpowered hold-down facility. The Pacer cyclonic extraction system ensures clean operation at all times.

The latest XMC-E version 3 software from Pacer combined with a Windows XP PC located at the point of the machine provides the operator with total flexibility. The graphical display allows easy creation of tool paths live at the machine or for adjusting programs 'on the fly'.

Included in the range of optional features is a spray mister coolant system for cutting metals and alloys and a fully automatic tool change system including high-power and high-speed (up to 40,000rpm) spindles. Remote 'dial-in' E-support for rapid online fault diagnostics supplements the day-to-day UK-based technical support that is provided by Pacer.
