A new self adhesive

A new “permanently re-positionable” self-adhesive vinyl solution has been launched by Swanline Paper & Board (SPB) to offer enhanced flexibility to the display and signage markets.

SPB, part of the Swanline Group, says Cygnus Gecko will revolutionise the industry’s perception of self-adhesive solutions thanks to the high quality polymeric vinyl. This has been specially designed to be easily removed and re-applied multiple times, with no effect on adhesive performance.

Ross Griffin, Managing Director at SPB, said: “Unlike other ‘removable’ vinyls, Cygnus Gecko never gains strength and can be removed time and again, leaving no damage to surfaces or any adhesive residue.

“This cost-effective solution offers our customers in the sign and display market great flexibility by enabling them to regularly adjust their displays to reflect current promotions and maintain customer engagement. The vinyl is also available in a choice of matt white or chalkboard finishes to suit the surrounding environment and enhance the overall appearance.”

Cygnus Gecko matt white can be used outdoors and is durable for up to two years. The chalkboard finish is intended for indoor use, for restaurant menus for example, and can be written on with traditional or liquid chalk.

The substrate is printable by solvent, eco solvent, UV and HP Latex technologies and has a class 0 fire rating making it ideal for applications in public areas. It can also be over-laminated with a polymeric laminate for further protection or enhancement.
