The new 2122 Cyber Series extra long, two flute ball nosed cutter
For the machining of complex forms and deep cavities, ITC has now developed its new 2122 Cyber Series of extra long, two flute ball nosed cutters. The exciting XXLS Series of 2122 milling cutters is the result of extensive customer feedback and research and development that now sees the Tamworth based carbide tooling specialist provide a range of high performance long reach cutters.

The development work at ITC now enables the company to offer cutting tools up to 200mm long whilst maintaining a very high level of rigidity. This exceptional rigidity is credit to a straight shank series with an upward spiral and 30 degree helix that incorporates ITC's specialist geometries to improve surface finishes and swarf removal to reduce chatter and vibration. These benefits are also credit to the remarkable rigidity of the high performance ultra wear resistant micro grain carbide that ITC uses to produce all its carbide tooling.

The 2122 Series is available in 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20mm diameters with an overall length of 150mm for the 6 and 8mm cutters whilst the 10 to 20mm offerings are 200mm in length. The flute lengths for the series are 38, 40, 50 and 75mm for the 12, 16 and 20mm cutters. ITC engineers have tirelessly strived to achieve a product that gives the end user the optimal machining results. With the selected flute lengths and cutting geometries, ITC has now designed a long series of tooling that gives the end user remarkable tool life, exceptional surface finish and performance that far exceeds competitor offerings.

Manufactured from high quality solid carbide, the 2122 Series can machine a diverse range of materials from aluminium and steels to aerospace grade super alloys. However, with its specialist ball geometry the 2122 Series is ideal for cavity machining. The technology incorporated into this high performance series sees the 2122 Series commonly used in high technology industries such as aerospace, F1 and medical; however this exceptional new range can also be utilised in the sign industry.

Maintaining a high level of performance whilst pushing the boundaries of tool length is a credit to tireless efforts of the engineers at ITC. Despite having a wide selection of 2122 Series cutters to meet the diverse needs of the marketplace, the company can offer modified tooling solutions to meet the specific needs of the end user.
