Digital traffic sign printer means faster delivery for William Smith customers

The Durst Rho 161 TS in use. The installation of a Durst Rho 161 TS printer has revolutionised the way that William Smith produces traffic signs.

"This machine represents a significant investment of some £250,000, but it means that we can produce sign faces digitally for the first time," says William Smith’s Marketing Manager, Chris Bradley.

"With this printer we are able to ensure consistent quality, consistent colour and high gloss levels for all sign faces. Individual sign faces and large production runs can be processed faster, so that we can work to much shorter lead times. This means we can respond even faster to customer requirements.

"An added bonus is that we have less wastage, which is a significant benefit both economically and environmentally."

The Durst Rho 161 TS traffic sign printer is a large format 62" roll-to-roll UV-curable inkjet printer, designed to print long lasting traffic signs. It was specifically developed for printing directly onto 3M HIP, DG³ and Engineer Grade traffic sign materials, with a durability of up to 12 years MCS warranty.
