A supplier to the sign industry, the James McNaughton Group, and a sign company, the Allsignsgroup, are both included in The Sunday Times Green List 2009 of the 60 Best Green Companies.

Uniquely, the Best Green Companies survey takes account of the views of employees who get to rate their organisation's green credentials, as well as assessing the environmental performance, policies and practices of businesses.

Paper supplier, the James McNaughton Group, collected an award for Outstanding Environmental Performance and was ranked 38th in the list.

When it comes to climate change, the James McNaughton Group's policies aren't pulp fiction. The company has developed an extensive range of environmentally responsible products, in addition to using as many innovations as possible to reduce its own impact.

Debuting in 45th place nationally and the sixth greenest manufacturer in the UK The Sunday Times Green List, is the Allsignsgroup.

Not that long ago, almost all of the firm's 220 tons of annual waste went to landfill at a cost of more than £30,000. Now, after introducing a comprehensive recover, recycle and reuse scheme, the Brentford based firm's monthly recycling rate has shot up to 65%.

In The Sunday Times survey Allsignsgroup employees scored particularly high for knowing where to put waste and which waste goes where (99% and 96% respectively).
