Zeta Specialist Lighting launches new solar wayfinding solution

Zeta Specialist Lighting has extended its SmartScape street and area lighting range, with the launch of the new Solar Bollard.

The new Solar Bollard wayfinding and amenity lighting solution is the first solar-powered system in the SmartScape range. It also includes the SmartScape Heritage, an LED conversion solution for heritage lamps; and the SmartScape Nano, a LED street lighting solution. This has "intelligent" cooling technology that ensures optimum heat dissipation, and uses up to 60 per cent less power than conventional technologies.

Available in aluminium and wood finishes, the new Solar Bollard has been designed to capture and store solar power via its integrated PV panels. It requires no on-grid connection, making it ideal for use in walkways, cycle paths, parks or residential areas where there is no mains-fed power supply.

Designed and developed in house, the SmartScape Solar Bollard contains two LED lights. One runs at a low lighting level continuously, making sure it can be seen from a distance. While the second down light reflector lamp incorporates integrated PIR sensors that automatically increase the lighting level when there is activity in the area, saving energy and reducing light pollution.

"This easy to install, robust and vandal resistant solar-powered system which has an average rated life of over 44,000 hours, is low maintenance and once installed there are zero running costs," says a spokesperson.
