Nottingham print giants join forces

Matthew Proudlove - Cooper Parry, John Watson - Viva Imaging, Robert Ridd - Berryman, Tony Barnett - John E Wright.Leading Nottingham exhibition and display companies, John E Wright and Viva Imaging, have announced the merger of their two companies, thereby creating one of the largest display graphics companys in the East Midlands.

Established in 1900, John E Wright's head office still retains the name Blue Print House, reflecting the early history of this successful family business. The company has two branches in both Nottingham and Leicester in addition to their other midlands branches in Oxford, Coventry, Hull and Derby.

The merger with Viva Graphics will see John E Wright's highly specialised Nottingham roll-to-roll UV printers to work alongside their existing two HP Scitex Flatbed printers, Zund cutter and router and fleet of HP Designjet Z6100's in addition to a whole host of finishing products.

In the same way that John E Wright grew out of a plan printing and graphics art background, Viva Imaging emerged into inkjet imaging from a photographic history. With the advent of digital cameras, their business changed considerably and under the experienced leadership of John Watson, they now offer a complete digital print and finishing service to the professional photographer in addition to the large format exhibition display graphics service, which is project managed from inception right through to design and then build.

John E Wright & Co specialise in the production and finishing of large format exhibition and display graphics, and is a leading supplier of services and supplies to the CAD and graphic design communities throughout the Midlands. The company is now managed by the fourth generation of the family, Managing Director Tony Barnett.

"I am excited about this opportunity," Barnett says, "the combined strengths of Viva and John E Wright's staff, experience and expertise will make us the largest print company in the Midlands with the most varied selection of wide format printers in the area. We can now print on everything from wood, board, metal, fabric, film etc. You name it, we can print on it and all from our print factory in Linkmel Close, Nottingham. All our staff are friendly and passionate about producing quality work. We look forward to welcoming Viva staff to our base in Linkmel and together we can build a bright future for John E Wright."

The new business unit will come under the John E Wright umbrella of companies and Viva Imaging management will stay to help with the integration and push the business forward.
