ITC moves with the ‘metric’ times

ITC CuttingTool Further developing its range of cutting tools for the sign industry, ITC has now added metric dimensions to its 180-62 and 180-63 Series of two and three flute spiral cutters. Already available as imperial tools from 1/8 to ½ inch diameter, the Tamworth based manufacturer has launched the metric range to accommodate the increasingly diverse needs of the industry.

The extension of the range now sees the 180-62 and 180-63 Series available with 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12mm diameters with respective cutting lengths of 12, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25, and 30mm. With more manufacturers working to metric dimensions, the standard imperial cutting tools often cause additional conversion work. Now, ITC can offer both imperial and metric series to suit the needs of the end user.

The two and three flute spiral solid carbide cutters are both single end, standard length straight shank 30 degree left hand helix tools with plunge style end cutting. The 180-62 and 180-63 Series are ideal for producing burr free high surface quality finishes when machining aluminium and additional soft materials.

The two flute 180-62 routing tool is well suited to flexible materials as the left hand helix design directs the cutting force downwards to hold the material rigid against the bottom plate or template. This eliminates burrs from the top surface of the workpiece and delivers exceptional surface finishes.

The three fluted 180-63 Series is the ideal solution for smooth chatterless operation when free hand routing as its combination of left hand spiral and three flutes promotes remarkable surface quality through its rigid design.
