William Smith has extended its portfolio of 3MTM materials. The latest additions include extra colours for an already popular range of films; new wrapping films with deeper, invisible air channels in their adhesive; a conformable cast film that opens up a wide range of design possibilities; and reflective sheeting for producing permanent road traffic signs with enhanced brightness and visibility.

3M cast graphic films now in more colours

Some 97 new colours have been added to the range of 3M Scotchcal™ Opaque Graphic Film 100 Series now available from William Smith. This range of premium cast self-coloured film now has a total of 170 standard colours, 120 plain and 50 metallic tones.

The 100 Series is specifically designed and optimised for electrocut conversion and is ideal for computer and hand cutting, giving superior cutting and weeding performance. Highly durable and conformable, it offers consistency of colour and uniformity of image to create high quality graphics for both interior and exterior applications.

The film is ideal for a range of applications, including letters and emblems, vehicle markings, non-illuminated signs and fascias, wayfinding and information signage, and window graphics.

A wider choice of wrappings

William Smith has announced three new wrapping films from 3M, all featuring Comply Version 3 adhesive. The latest version of this adhesive now incorporates deeper invisible air channels with a new structure that increases the efficiency and consistency of air bleeding, resulting in faster installation and an improved finished appearance.

Controltac 85Cv3 Series is 3M's new flagship self-coloured car wrapping film with additional features like Controltac adhesive and Cv3. It comes in a choice of 24 bold and true colours including gloss, matt and metallic finishes, giving a paint-like finish whilst protecting original paintwork and minimising the appearance of scratches.

Designed primarily for wrapping cars, Controltac 85Cv3 Series is suitable for full vehicle wraps and ideal for application to flat or curved body panels, but not for recessed or corrugated areas.

Scotchcal IJ170Cv3 Series is a short to medium term removable graphic film for Piezo inkjet printing and offers an economic, cost effective but durable option for creating graphics with no show-through. It is suitable for simple vehicle wraps, vehicle graphics and internal and external signage.

Controltac IJ180Cv3 Series is a short to long term removable graphic film for inkjet and screen printing. It has great conformability and can be applied in extreme hot and cold temperatures. Suitable for vehicle wraps, vehicle livery and advertising wraps, IJ180Cv3 is suitable for curved surfaces but not deep recesses.

A clearly attractive option with new film

3M Scotchcal™ Clear View Graphic Film 8150 is specifically designed for architectural, graphic and decorative applications. This clear highly conformable cast film's image quality enables eye-catching graphic images to be created, especially where high transparency in unprinted areas is required. Special printing effects, such as crystal, dusted and frosted can also be achieved.

Clear View 8150 is suitable for inkjet or screen printing with UV, solvent and latex inks for a wide variety of graphic applications, including decorative and privacy, signage, point of sale, advertising and window graphics, and vehicle wraps.

Clear View 8150 can be applied to glass, acrylic, polycarbonate, GRP and painted metal and its excellent conformability means that it can be applied on contoured and structured surfaces. Perforated window simulation also means that one-way vision can be achieved.

Permanent road traffic signs, using EGP reflective sheeting
