Roles and Responsibilities

Project Manager

Reports to: Senior Project Manager

Job Purpose: To support the busy sales team of a leading trade sign manufacturing business. Providing excellent customer service, to assure our company values are upheld, and accurately interpreting order information, which in turn will ensure we meet and exceed client expectations. You will liaise regularly with the Drawing department, Fabrication and Production Managers as well as the Sales Team. You will be responsible for ensuring that all Policies and Procedures along with Health and Safety are adhered to, reporting non-conformance and quality defects to management.

  • Ability to read production drawings/cutting lists and check for errors.

  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with the manufacturing processes of signage.
  • Maths and English GCSE grade C or above.
  • Must possess an excellent eye for detail and analytical skills.
  • An ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • A motivational team player, having the ability to use initiative and possess a positive attitude.
  • Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability.
  • A flexible approach is essential as some additional hours may be required to fulfil the requirements to ensure deadlines are met.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Project management qualification
  • Qualification in Technical Drawing – e.g. AutoCAD
  • Experience within the sign industry
  • Experience of working in 5S and/or Lean Manufacturing Environment

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Receive and contract review sales orders, liaising with the internal sales team and clients.
  • Confirmation of order to clients detailing if their requirements are achievable and offering alternatives if necessary.
  • Updating system with alterations, revised/material costs and additional information.
  • Review manufacture drawings against job cards prior to issue.
  • Raise requisite purchase orders for the Procurement Department.
  • Identify and source non-standard materials when required.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure the smooth completion of contract.
  • Sign off completed orders for invoicing daily.
  • Maintain and develop relations with new and existing clients.
  • Liaise with clients to determine requirements, clarify or chase details.
  • Develop subcontract manufacturing resources and partners.
  • Follow company policy and procedures within your department, reporting any non-conformance to management.
  • Maintain a high level of quality.
  • Notify management of any discrepancies or quality concerns.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Attend training and develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Minimum Hours of Work: 8.30 – 17.00 Monday – Thursday / 8.30 – 16.00 Friday


As an NCS Employee you will be offered an attractive starting salary between £18 - £25k per annum depending upon experience, along with a group personal pension and a minimum of 20 days of annual leave.
